Corbett Lunsford is an Atlanta-based home performance guru, blower door expert, former BPI superproctor and RESNET Quality Assurance Designee, the author of the book Home Performance Diagnostics, and an advocate for homeowners and contractors everywhere.
Hi. I'm Corbett Lunsford, and sometimes I'm an idiot. I wasn't always a home performance expert- I used to play piano for ballerinas. For a living. So in 2008, I learned a few things very quickly: construction is unbelievably messy, most pros are over-rushed and under-paid, and homeowners end up suffering in small ways, for their entire lives in a house. None of this has to be so- we can opt out of the whole thing with performance testing.
MY GOAL: to package building performance so it can easily be understood and used by professionals and consumers alike, for better buildings worldwide. We need to quit kidding ourselves that homeowners are aiming for efficiency or sustainability, and start aiming at what all homeowners aim for: living in a better home, and getting a better life.
In 2009, I started teaching pros through my Building Performance Workshop (where each student happily admits to being an idiot at the beginning of every class), and I've hosted over 300 YouTube videos and 80 interviews for the Building Performance Podcast. Without anybody to tell me I couldn't, I wrote the book Home Performance Diagnostics: the Guide to Advanced Testing, and developed the APT Reports software tool.
In 2016 we built the world's highest performance tiny house on wheels, the #TinyLab, and toured the US before settling down in Atlanta, Georgia. Along the way, we created the first TV series about home performance, Home Diagnosis, which airs on public TV across the U.S.
Enough about me. I want to talk about you. Let's help you figure out what your building needs, and how exactly to measure it so we know it works perfectly afterward.
PS- In my former career, I was a recording artist and improvising musician; I've released 8 albums and one feature film soundtrack under the name Mysteriam.
...AND MEET THE WOMAN BEHIND THE MAN:
Grace Lunsford is the powerhouse behind BPW’s videos and the Home Diagnosis TV series- she founded the media firm Sterling Rock Productions because the movies she wanted to see were not being made. She has served on the Boards of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild Midwest and the Illinois Production Alliance (which lobbies for tax incentives in the film industry), where she spearheaded an initiative to bring the production of major motion pictures and television shows to Chicago. She also founded the 501c3 Chicago Acting in Film Meetup, a professional support group of over 150 screen actors.
Grace's career in film and television and voiceover continues in Atlanta, GA, where she's represented by Stewart Talent.
