[Duct & Envelope Tightness (DET) Verifier]
8-MODULE ONLINE COURSE, SELF-PACED
INCLUDES 1 HOUR COACHING W/ CORBETT
OPTIONAL 90 MINUTE CERTIFICATION EXAM W/ CORBETT +$250
Building energy codes in Georgia and elsewhere requires blower door and duct leakage testing for every new home. Our DET Verifier certification is recognized (along with BPI and HERS Rater Certification) to demonstrate blower door and duct tightness test competence anywhere in the world. DET Verifiers are trained and tested to:
Perform Blower Door Testing on new homes for 2009/2012/2015/2018 IECC
Perform Duct Leakage Testing on new homes for 2009/2012/2015/2018 IECC
Interpret both of these tests for International Energy Code compliance
This 1-day customized course is designed and instructed by Corbett Lunsford, author of the book Home Performance Diagnostics. Corbett has certified hundreds of DET Verifiers since 2012, all over the US. Corbett will introduce the skills necessary to set up, perform, and analyze the blower door test and duct tightness test. For those who’d like to become a certified Duct and Envelope Tightness (DET) Verifier, Corbett personally proctors the Concepts Exam and Practical Exam for diagnostic testing required for new homes by the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) or your local state code, wherever you live. If you've been thinking about getting BPI or HERS Certified but can't yet make the investment, this DET Verifier certification can be your bridge into offering home performance testing services.
Whether online or in person, we always aim to both educate and entertain, and we stand behind that with a risk-free guarantee.
After successful completion of this course, you will be able to test the leakage of a building envelope and duct system, and evaluate the results as measured against building energy code requirements. Specific topics include:
Protocols for blower door and duct leakage testing
Equations for interpreting ACH50 and percent duct leakage
Tips for successfully completing the written and in-field DET Verifier certification exams (must pass with an 80% on both Concepts and Practical exams)
review these before you REGISTER FOR THE TRAINING:
