Corbett, Grace, and their crew of awesome nerds pour a high performance crawlspace foundation wall and totally skip the slump test, on purpose, which they know will get a lot of loving kindness in the comments section.

*CORRECTION: Pango Wrap is 15-mil thick, not 20, but is still a 0.01-perm vapor barrier.

Grace and Corbett built the world's highest performance tiny house on wheels in 2016. It was perfect. Then they toured it 13,000 miles across America and let 7,000 people come inside to feel, hear, and smell what perfectly tuned home performance is like.
What's the house performing like now, after all that torture? And under 2 inches of snow in Atlanta, Georgia? See for yourself in this 20-minute tour, complete with testing, demonstrations, and metrics that show Proof Is Possible, even for people who have never built a house before. The #TinyLab is still the undisputed most scientifically superior home performance demonstration in the world, and we sincerely hope others start challenging our work!
Phil Rivas of Fantech shows Corbett around the Fantech booth at the International Builders Show 2018. Demonstrations of Inline Kitchen Exhaust hood with silencer, Energy Recovery Ventilator with balancing registers, HEPA filtration, and Dryer Booster Fans. Learn more at http://Fantech.net

Corbett Lunsford built the world’s highest performance tiny house on wheels, but it’s not because he’s a great builder. He’s an idiot- just ask him. The reason he could create a home that feels perfectly comfortable, smells great, and sounds quiet all the time is that he’s learned to think about the physics of home performance, and measure it. And he wants to pass along what he’s learned so you never feel like you wasted money guessing- Proof Is Possible through the ‘magic’ of performance testing like infrared, blower door, and HVAC diagnostics.
Whether you’re planning home improvements, trying to solve a mystery house problem, or buying or building a home, you will learn a ton in this crash course from one of the world’s experts on the topic. Bring any and all questions about your particular home, and get your hands on high-tech testing tools!
IN THIS 2-HOUR WORKSHOP, YOU'LL LEARN TO:
- Explore your home through the lens of the #TinyLab (which housed 3 people and 2 cats on a 13k mile tour)
- Understand the physics of home performance, and predict problems before they happen
- Control the way your home feels, smells, and sounds using the latest technology and materials
- Ensure your home isn’t poisoning or endangering your family
- Make better investments in home upgrades

Today Corbett talks with Hap Haven of US Green Home about where home performance contractors come from and where we're going (and how not to crash and burn on the way there). Sponsored by the Building Performance Workshop's 6-Week Mastermind Distance Course and Home Performance for Tiny Spaces course.
Getting the job done right is a critical part of the job, but what about educating your client on what was done and why it's important? What about reminding them 2 years later? Metrics are the crux of the whole home performance movement, from pre-improvement testing through continuous monitoring.
I am not a contractor, but a residential homeowner that has become increasingly interested in owning (and taking a part in creating) a high performance building. After going through several series of podcasts, I ran across yours, and immediately loved it because you went into greater detail about the things that I want to learn about; so I want to thank you for the podcast.
Onto my situation.... I am looking to buy an older (1940's) home that has no hvac, next to no insulation, and needs a good deal of work; but I believe it has the best potential for making a high performance home.... a blank canvas.
What I am having trouble with is finding the local rock stars that can really help me make my house as efficient and comfortable as possible with my given budget. Do you know of any really good people in the Dallas area that could get me on the right track? Thanks again for putting out all the info!
Thanks for reaching out, Derek! I'm always happy to help, and I think the home you're considering is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY. A blank canvas is much easier to paint on, and when a house is fully 'finished' and has been renovated, it just means you'll have to dig harder and deeper to find and fix the issues that are lurking under the surface.
I'll hook you up privately with a few of my own black belts who are part of Fall Fast Track, but I also want you to know that when we take this show on the road next year for the Proof Is Possible Tour, we'll be creating a directory of pros who pledge to deliver guaranteed results across the U.S.! Stay tuned here for further developments on that front, and keep in touch about your high performance home renovation!
